However, the firm’s specific experience in water & wastewater design, construction, management, inspection, and financing in actual applications in the region clearly distinguishes it from other local and regional engineering firms. Shown below are a few examples of projects BALAR has completed.
Bossier City Arena
The Bossier City Arena, currently known as Brookshire Grocery Arena. is a multi-purpose arena designed by BALAR Associates, Inc. and A/E Design Group, Inc. The facility has been providing the region with sporting, music, and other entertainment since its doors opened in 2000.
Sam's Town Casino and Hotel
Sam's Town Casino and Hotel, which opened on the banks of the Red River in 1994 as Harrah's Shreveport, is a 23-story hotel accompanied by a 30,000 square foot riverboat casino in which BALAR Associates, Inc. provided structural engineering consulting.

Blanchard Water Treatment Plant
The Town of Blanchard constructed a new state of the art membrane type water treatment facility that can produce up to 5 million gallons of potable water per day. BALAR Associates, Inc. were proud to be the lead engineers on this project.
Northwest Louisiana Swim Complex (Vivian)
Currently in construction, the Town of Vivian plans to open the Northwest Louisiana Swim Complex in June of 2024. The facility will consist of two pools, providing Northwest Louisiana and surrounding areas with a pristine recreational swim complex. BALAR is proud to be the lead designer on this project.
